Red Room

The Red Room, nestled within The Connaught, is a hidden enclave accessed through a velvet-curtained doorway from the Champagne Room. This intimate wine destination showcases a collection of red-themed works by four visionary female artists, from one of the most renowned to a young Vietnamese talent. Ideal for those seeking a sophisticated wine bar experience, the Red Room boasts a refined atmosphere and an exceptional wine selection.
Designed by Bryan O’Sullivan, the interior features a soft palette that lets the art take centre stage. Highlights include a mosaic runway, a pink onyx bar, and Louise Bourgeois’ 'I Am Rouge'.

We operate a no reservations policy for all-day dining and drinks.

An Ode to Rouge

Louise Bourgeois’ ‘I Am Rouge’, a striking watercolour, gouache, and pencil work, is displayed for the first time here, framed by Brian Clarke's glass panels. It is accompanied by Bourgeois’ scarlet-hued hologram from 1998.

    Female Visionaries

Two works by Louise Bourgeois frame the space, while Trina McKillen’s ‘Composition #8’ is the room’s sole photographic piece. Ti-a Thuy Nguyen’s ‘Scarlet Mist’ and Jenny Holzer’s ‘Benghazi’ complete the collection.

    A Home Within

    A Home

Looking out from the organic curves of the ombre scarlet snug, the Red Room has the feel of a collector’s living room. Soft creams, blush pinks and pearl blues form a soothing palette, accented by the dramatic red works. Perfectly appointed nooks feature small ceramics and objects d’art that shimmer under the glow of antique pendants and jewel-like lamps.
