Few boat shows are as glamorous as the Monaco Yacht Show, the event brings together some of the world’s most impressive superyachts, with teak decks and glinting hulls as far as the eye can see.

Last year’s Monaco Yacht Show featured 120 superyachts, most of them custom designed, with a combined value just shy of £4 billion. This year’s event, taking place from 23-36 September 2026, promises even more eye-catching yacht debuts and luxury experiences.

The Largest Superyachts at the Monaco Yacht Show

Some of the biggest and most private new deliveries are anchored beyond the port, with invitees shuttled back and forth by mahogany-veneered tender. Last year that included Breakthrough, the 119-metre hydrogen fuel cell-powered superyacht commissioned by Bill Gates.

With an asking price of £675 million, she sold for slightly less yet still broke records as the most expensive second-hand yacht ever sold. Today, Breakthrough is available to charter from £3.5 million per week.

The biggest buzz typically surrounds one or two newly delivered giants, such as a 130-metre flagship from Dutch shipyard Oceanco, due to splash in 2026. Germany's Lürssen and the Netherlands' Amels are also completing Monaco showstoppers that promise to be huge, sculptural and unashamedly luxurious.

Recent high-profile debuts have centred on hybrid, methanol-ready and fully electric propulsion, reflecting the growing focus on sustainable superyacht design.

The 50Steel Almax, exhibited by Sanlorenzo in 2024, became one of the most talked-about yachts on the docks thanks to its world-first propulsion system powered by a green methanol reformer fuel cell.

This year, the Italian shipbuilder will wow the crowds with its largest build to date: the 74Steel Silver Fox. Featuring a 300-square-metre owner's deck, a naturally lit beach club with folding sea-level platforms and light-filled interiors, it's already a star in the making, with three hulls sold before its debut.

That includes Virtuosity, the second hull built on the same proven technical platform but featuring a raft of bespoke design elements, including a living tree rising through two decks.
