|Capri in the City returns to The Berkeley as its Rooftop opens to all with a touch of La Dolce Vita flair
The Berkeley, perfectly nestled between bustling Knightsbridge and leafy Belgravia, will open its legendary rooftop – usually reserved for staying guests – to all for summer 2026. Open from the evening of 1st May, The Berkeley Rooftop Bar & Pool will see the return of Capri in the City – a seasonal pop-up inspired by the island’s picturesque, cove-studded coastline and its endless blue Mediterranean Sea views.
Capri in the City returns this year in collaboration with friends of the hotel, Acqua di Parma. Back by popular demand, the seasonal poolside pop up is inspired by the island’s picturesque, cove-studded coastline and its endless blue Mediterranean Sea views. Surrounded by lemon trees and unrivalled views of Hyde Park and the London skyline, Capri in the City will celebrate Italy’s colourful, laid-back beach clubs with a brand-new Riviera-inspired menu of cocktails and dishes, offering Londoners the chance to live the dolce vita lifestyle in the capital.
The Berkeley will serve up a series of Capri-inspired cocktails and refreshing spritzes. Highlights include the ‘Capri Negroni’, a refreshing negroni with citrus notes blending O’ndina gin, Amalfi lemon, Campari, dry vermouth, chamomile and fig leaf. For those hot summer nights, the signature ‘Granita della casa’ offers a revitalising mix of Aperol, freshly squeezed Amalfi lemon juice and sugar, complete with freshly shaved ice. Celebrated spritzes, craft beers and wines will also feature.
A poolside pizza oven will create a selection of pizzas including Parma ham with rocket and parmesan, and artichokes with anchovies and Taggiasca olives. Generous sharing platters will also celebrate the best of Italian produce including homemade rosemary Focaccia, Calabria anchovy fillets, Mortadella, Prosciutto and more, alongside Paccheri with clams, mussels and crab, and small plates of marinated octopus and a classic Panzanella salad. For a sweet treat in the sun, guests can expect a generous tiramisu for two – the ultimate Italian dessert – or Amalfi lemon sorbet served in a lemon, as it always should be, complete with a refreshing drop of Limoncello on the side.
To arrive at Capri in the City, guests will be whisked up to The Berkeley rooftop by lift, discovering a sun-bathed mural by Italian artist Chiara Perano along the way, inspired by the blues of the swimming pool and greens of the park. Once outside, staggering views of the red brick of Knightsbridge, the charming crescents of Belgravia and the vast scale of Hyde Park’s treetops await. Visitors can book a table at the poolside bar or nab a lounger – cocktail in hand – to enjoy this space normally reserved exclusively for guests of The Berkeley.
Capri in the City at The Berkeley Rooftop Bar will open to all from Friday 1st May 2026. Reservations are now open. Whilst the pool itself is not open for guests of Capri in the City, sun loungers are available for walk-ins and tables can be booked here.
