The Terrace Debuts at Claridge's Restaurant

Claridge’s debuts The Terrace, an elegant al fresco dining space in Mayfair, launching May 2024. Featuring seasonal menus by Simon Attridge, it offers relaxed lunches, intimate dinners, and signature cocktails.

The iconic red-brick façade of Claridge’s, adorned with green awnings and a Union Jack, epitomizing timeless British elegance.

Introducing The Terrace at Claridge’s Restaurant, opening officially for its first season on Monday 20th May 2024. Situated in the beating heart of Mayfair on street-level, yet discreetly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the terrace will offer a secluded space, ideal for al fresco drinks, long lunches and intimate dinners.

A specially curated seasonal dining menu, by Culinary Director Simon Attridge, will feature indulgent, ingredient-led dishes. Those wanting a few snacks to share can opt for Montgomery gourgéres with pickled walnuts, Sole goujons served with tartare sauce or Cobble Lane coppa with homemade pickles. Not forgetting the hotel’s signature CFC, Claridge’s Fried Chicken, paired with a citrus créme fraîche and recommended in plentiful supply (and not to be shared!).

Whilst Claridge’s truffle crumpets remain a must-order in the dining room, the terrace will serve a daily changing trio of savoury crumpet options. Chef's favourites include Crab and apple, Lobster cocktail, Sauce Vierge and crispy lemon, and Lardo with truffled honey, with the selection evolving throughout the summer in line with the best quality ingredients of the season.

Onto the larger dishes and key standouts include English asparagus with a rich hazelnut and truffle vinaigrette, Severn and Wye smoked salmon with sour cream, capers and soda bread, Marmande tomato with ricotta, pine nuts and basil and a crisp Cucumber and fennel salad garnished with sea herbs and kaffir lime. Delicately balanced and refreshing, all dishes are an elegant reflection of the season.

Desserts at Claridge’s Restaurant are always nostalgic yet gloriously refined. Guests can indulge in a British summer classic with Eton mess and strawberries which celebrates the finest seasonal produce. Or opt for the Cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream for a sophisticated take on a childhood favourite, promising pure satisfaction.

From the drinks menu, Ruinart Champagne will flow in true Claridge’s style, best enjoyed with Carlingford oysters or Oscietra/Beluga caviar for that added touch of luxury. The wine list has been carefully selected to complement the range of flavours across the menu; choose between three different types of rosé from Château d'Esclans in Provence. Guests can also expect aperitifs and a killer list of cocktails. Heroes include the Blood orange garibaldi made with Campari and freshly squeezed blood orange and the Peach piquant mixed with tequila and mezcal.

The Terrace at Claridge’s Restaurant will launch officially from Monday 20th May, open daily from 12pm to 10pm (6pm on Sundays).  The main dining room’s A La Carte menu will be available on the terrace during lunch and dinner time throughout the week, but on Sundays only the terrace menu will be available.

Reservations can be made via the hotel website:

ABOUT CLARIDGE’S RESTAURANT

The restaurant was designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, paying homage to the hotel’s Art Deco design heritage.  A contemporary colour palette is complemented with Calacatta Viola marble and antique brass. Mosaic flooring, central leather banquettes and dramatic pendant lamps, in the style of art deco architect Joseph Hoffman, add a sense of true glamour to the space. The restaurant’s distinctive art deco starburst skylights were designed by Guy Oliver and artwork has been chosen from Claridge’s extensive private collection, with pieces from Sean Scully, Guggi, Richard Gorman and two new bespoke commissions by Brian Clarke. Daylight floods in from the expansive windows along Davies Street and an art-filled private dining room features a playful take on panelling by next gen artist Sam Wood. Overseen by Simon Attridge, Culinary Director at Claridge’s, the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch Monday to Sunday, and dinner Monday to Saturday.
