Monday 3rd November 2025 - Claridge’s, London’s legendary Mayfair hotel, announces that this year its much-anticipated annual Christmas tree will be designed by Daniel Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry. The tree, which brings together two illustrious British names, will be unveiled in the hotel lobby on the morning of Tuesday 25th November 2025.

Since the 19th century, Burberry has brought people together to celebrate Christmas, including hosting a Christmas bazaar and even having Father Christmas visit its store in Basingstoke – the town where Burberry was founded in 1856 – creating a brand that unites people in the joy of the season.

Claridge’s Christmas Tree 2025, by Daniel Lee for Burberry, will be a traditional 16ft tree decorated with approximately 600 bows – a Victorian symbol of unity – made from surplus Burberry fabrics. The tree will also feature hanging bells and chess-piece decorations, the latter inspired by the house’s Equestrian Knight Design. The design was crowd-sourced from a public competition to create a new logo for Burberry circa 1901, a testament to the house’s dialogue with its communities. The top of the tree will be adorned with a gold crown topper, while the base will feature oversized floor-standing chess pieces.

Commenting on the tree, Daniel Lee said, “Claridge’s has always felt like home from the moment you walk through its doors, a true symbol of elegance and British heritage where I’ve enjoyed many special moments over the years. Being invited to design the hotel’s annual Christmas tree is a huge honour. I saw it as an opportunity to celebrate tradition and togetherness - expressing the season through vibrant colours and rich textures. Christmas is my favourite time of the year”.

Claridge’s Managing Director, Thomas Kochs, said, “Christmas is always the most magical time of the year at Claridge’s and this festive season we are honoured and delighted to welcome long-standing friend Daniel Lee into our lobby. We can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for the tree and look forward to seeing guests and visitors immerse themselves in the creative world of Burberry.”

The Claridge’s Christmas Tree has long been a seasonal London landmark and symbolises the start of the festive season in the capital. This is the fifteenth year Claridge’s has invited a distinguished hotel guest and friend to reinterpret the Christmas tree in their own distinctive style.
