A safe stay at our hotels

Firstly, we hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. These have been challenging days for us all, yet amid the hardship comes hope. Our teams have been busy as they rechannelled their spirit of hospitality in support of our great city. At Claridge’s we have been proud to provide a welcoming refuge to many of London’s critical care NHS teams. At The Connaught, we have provided 400 meals each day for London’s homeless and at The Berkeley we created a 999 ‘drive-thru’ for London’s emergency services.

We would like to share with you details of the robust measures we are taking to meet guidance set out by the Government, Public Health England and WHO. Collaborating with world-leading designers, engineers and consultants, we have introduced enhancements to our hygiene and cleaning programme – ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort for both our guests and our colleagues.

There will be changes, but all that makes our hotels special will endure while our teams of familiar faces are ready to welcome you back.

The many modifications we are making for your safety will be discreetly done, so you can relax and confidently enjoy your time in our hotels.

As you arrive

As you check in, we’ll take a moment to talk you through the ways in which we will be taking care of your health, safety and happiness. You’ll also receive a bespoke amenity kit of face masks, hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes.

Handling with care

From our reception to restaurants, our hotels will be dotted with hand sanitiser in touchless dispensers. Meanwhile our housekeeping teams are elevating their already high standards to focus on ‘high touch’ hotspots.

Keeping clean

Your rooms, like all our restaurants and bars, will be meticulously cleaned using products scientifically proven to combat viruses and bacteria. You can also expect daily linen, laundered at high temperatures, and regularly changed filters to ensure fresh air circulation.

Safely spaced

We will clearly indicate ways you can maintain appropriate social distancing measures throughout the hotels.

Dining and drinking

You’ll be able to access the menu electronically on your own phone or tablet – with single-use paper versions available too. If you prefer to dine in your room or suite, your meal will be served according to the strictest safety measures.

Contactless payments

Whether it’s to settle your room bill or pay for drinks, we’ll make sure you can use contactless payment methods throughout our hotels.

Your wellbeing

As always, should you need it, you will be able to seek medical support from our trusted healthcare partner – who can also provide health checks.

Our people

By acting responsibly and taking expert advice, here’s how we are looking after the wellbeing of our people.

Temperature checking

From our doormen to bartenders, there will be daily temperature checks for every member of staff using thermal imaging cameras. All of our people will also have their own masks, hand sanitiser and other protective equipment.

Training

Intensive, ongoing training is equipping our teams with the knowledge and confidence to reach the highest health and safety standards, driven by up to the minute advice.

Testing

Every team member will undergo an initial antibody test before returning to work. If anyone later shows symptoms, they’ll isolate at home and await COVID-19 test results.
