We are seeking an exceptional Director of Group Sales East Coast to join the Maybourne Hotel Group. Based in the USA, you will be responsible for generating group revenue from the US by strategically targeting high yield business resulting in maximum overall group revenue from all market segments for the Maybourne Hotel Group.


Main duties & responsibilities

Main responsiblities of the role will be:

  • To have total account management for all group market segments – corporate, association, and leisure.
  • To ensure a solid group base is established through proactive selling to increase conversion and utilise special need period rates and concessions.
  • To continually be aware of competitor’s performance, need period promotions and any group intelligence in order to gain market share and increase group revenue.
  • To develop key relationships with trade associations, incentive house and third party planners to ensure Maybourne Hotel Group presence in the group market.
  • To manage corporate transient accounts.
  • To develop new client relationships through prospecting and proactive lead generation activities
  • To develop a strategic sales plan which will maximise revenue growth and increase brand presence in the group market.
  • Provide constructive feedback from clients in regard to their events and hotel experience.  Make recommendations to operations teams on how they can improve the group experience and catering to the group’s needs.  Provide client feedback/suggestions to operational management on the delivery of our conference and banqueting products and services.
  • To continually exchange suggestions and ideas with hotel operations teams on ways to  enhance the group planner site visit experience
  • To monitor NA group market trends and make recommendations which will allow the hotels to maximize group rates and occupancy
  • To formulate a plan to pursue and convert high yield competitor business to Maybourne Hotel Group.
  • To represent Maybourne Hotel Group at Trade Shows and exhibitions as directed.
  • To continually review sales and marketing information to ensure familiarity with the Maybourne product.
  • To assist with the annual yearly group budget review with the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Americas and UK Group Director of Sales. 

  • To achieve and exceed quarterly revenue and sales activity goals set forth at the beginning of the year.

  • To be responsible for quarterly newsletters and/ or email blasts promoting latest MHG group initiatives to a strategic key account list

Entry Requirements

Successful candidates for our Director of Group Sales, East Coast opportunity will:

  • Have proven extensive experience as Director of Group Sales, ideally within the luxury 5* market
  • Demonstrate genuine dedication to Maybourne Hotel Group and show a commitment to consistent quality in our products and services.
  • Travel to London for sales meetings and trainings when required.Be a leader who is an avid learner, adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
