A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a creative and inspiring Communications Intern to join the Communications team at Maybourne Hotel Group Support Office.

Main duties & responsibilities

The Communications Intern will join the dynamic Communications team in the run up to Christmas – the busiest time of year for the hotels. This role is a unique opportunity for an energetic, creative individual to work across three of the world’s most iconic and beloved hotels, in addition to the group’s newest properties in Beverly Hills and Monaco. Exciting projects will be at the forefront of this role including critical launches spanning food and drink, restaurants and hospitality, fashion and luxury lifestyle areas.

The Communications Intern will assist in managing the day to day basic PR tasks including press cuttings and managing media lists and assisting on prominent moments in the London festive calendar such as the world famous unveiling of the Claridge’s Christmas tree in collaboration with a globally recognised fashion brand. Attention to detail and a passion for luxury, hospitality and all things visual are a must.

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Crafting compelling press releases and mail outs to the press – an invaluable skill for a career in PR.
  • Participating in brainstorming and planning sessions.
  • Assisting with events put on by the Press team in the run up to Christmas from intimate dinners to large parties.
  • Being the lead on press cuttings.
  • Assisting in booking VIP’s into our hotels and providing thorough briefs to the in-house teams ahead of important stays.
  • You will be guided in the art of pitching to press, with particular focus on Christmas pages and gift guides.
  • As the Communications team runs all Instagram accounts, you will be required to keep a close eye on the social media landscape particularly within the luxury industries, applying knowledge to help ensure that our approach is always fresh.
  • Supporting the Communications team with influencer work helping to build relevant relationships for each hotel.
  • Handling various administrative tasks which are instrumental in the development and execution of the Communications team’s plans and strategies.

Entry Requirements

Successful candidates for the Communications Intern opportunity will have proven experience as a PR intern or have worked within a similar position and have a basic understanding of the PR industry.

You will be a budding brand guardian who will live and breathe our hotels and whose passion is reflected in their work.This is an exciting role for a creative thinker who is always willing to go the extra mile within a small and fast paced team. You will demonstrate a positive can-do attitude and a genuine knowledge and interest in the areas of luxury, travel and food and drink.

You will have a high attention to detail and organisational skills, it would be advantageous if you have excellent writing and oral communication skills.The successful candidate would be required to join us as soon as possible and must be able to commit to a minimum of three months with a view to the internship possibly extending to a six month period.
