A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Head of Cigars to join Cigar Salon department team at The Emory.

The Maybourne is proud to introduce a new architectural landmark to London. The final project designed by the late Lord Richard Rogers, The Emory will be an exclusive, world-class hub of art and culture which marks the addition of a modern masterpiece to the group's global luxury estate. Situated on Knightsbridge and overlooking Hyde Park, The Emory will present 61 contemporary suites set over nine floors.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

As a Head of Cigars, you will ensure the effective management of the department and you will manage the team in an efficient and professional manner encouraging continuous development at all levels. You will make sure that high level of cigar knowledge is kept within the department.

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Be fully acquainted with the day-to-day bar operational standards and to consistently consider ways of constantly improving these.
  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining all standard operating practices including storage, control of goods, service standards and health and safety management.
  • Continuously assist with the monitoring and evaluation of The Cigar Merchants standards.
  • Handle guests’ complaints in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Work with the Cigar Sommeliers to develop new opportunities and initiatives based on market trends, innovations and customers’ expectations.
  • Continuously develop new standards to enhance service and presentation of the cigar & beverage offering.
  • Consistently deliver excellent LQA standard levels of service to ensure complete satisfaction of internal and external customers.
