We are seeking an exceptional Breakfast Chef to join the Kitchen team within Claridge’s.

 

Set in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge’s is an art deco icon and a byword for understated elegance. Since the 1850s, Claridge’s has excelled at the finer things in life: glamorous design, inspiring dining, impeccable service. There are many 5-star hotels in London but nowhere quite like Claridge’s. The hotel is a unique combination of splendour and charm with long-standing connections with royalty that have led to it sometimes being referred to as “annexe to Buckingham Palace”. Claridge’s has a famous all-day dining and Afternoon Tea restaurant the ‘Foyer & Reading Room’, L’Epicerie that offers a culinary theatre of the kitchen, and three bars: Claridge’s Bar, the intimate Fumoir and effortlessly elegant Painter’s Room.

 

The main kitchen is responsible for the preparation and service of food within the Foyer and Reading Room, In Room Dining and our luxury event space, catering for around 1000 people per day. Seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce are the hallmarks of our dining menus. Simply delicious, and deliciously simple. The Breakfast Chef at Claridge’s would be required to work 5 nights per week, starting at 10pm until 7am. Covering the night menu and the start of breakfast service.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

As a Breakfast Chef you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Sous Chefs in the preparation and service of food for the breakfast and night service
  • Ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times and also be expected to make sure that the Kitchen areas, equipment and utensils are always kept clean and tidy to the standards required
  • Demonstrating appropriate mise-en-place, stock rotation and portion control

Entry Requirements

Successful candidates for our Breakfast Chef opportunity will:

  • Demonstrate genuine dedication to Claridge’s and show a commitment to consistent quality in our product and service.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with internal staff, suppliers and clients, maximise resources and adhere to strict Hygiene standards and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Good organisation is pivotal to this hands-on role, to ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Be motivated, creative and have worked in a similar role within a five star or fine dining environment, with a passion for food and quality products, be a team player who is an avid learner who wants to be challenged and developed.
  • Well presented with ability to deal with a challenging environment.
