Under the direction of the Front Office Manager and Director of Rooms, and within the limits of Claridge’s policies and procedures, to assist in the management of night operations, supervising the hotel night teams and ensuring that guest service is maintained to the high standards required by the company. 

Main duties & responsibilities

As a Night Manager you will assist in achieving the departmental objectives, maximising occupancy and maintaining and building on the reputation of the hotel, to ensure that business objectives are accomplished.

Your duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Ensure that the team achieve and where possible exceed Maybourne Hotel Group minimum standards;
  • To support the reception operation and all duties of the team and to ensure that the agreed systems and procedures are upheld within the department;
  • To conduct and receive full and complete handovers between the night and day operation and ensure that all members for each shift are full informed of operation needs and issues of the day;
  • To ensure that daily operation check-lists are completed, assisting Guest Services, the Reception Chef De Brigade and Reservation Sales Office in correspondence checks, allocations, amenities etc;
  • To ensure that the night teams are kept informed of all guest activity for guests arrival, stay and departure and of any special requirements or changes pertaining to reservations, group reservations and events, packages and promotions etc. through meetings and distribution of written notification and summaries.

Entry Requirements

You must be passionate, motivated, welcoming and highly organised to ensure that all requests are attended to without any delays. You will need to be well presented, have excellent communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner. You need to work well under pressure with excellent ability to co-ordinate efficiently with other departments and bring good administration skills.

We anticipate applicants will have previous experience as Night Manager and will have worked in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
