Main duties & responsibilities

As Assistant Staff Restaurant Manager you will assist leading a strong team of experienced individuals in our outstanding Staff Restaurant called Refuel. A strong communicator, you will ensure that all team members are thoroughly informed about daily operations within the hotel and Refuel menus/operating hours. 

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise the service of meals and beverages to our colleagues and ensure the agreed portions are given to the agreed size, in accordance with the staff head chef.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a safe and hygienic manner according to hotel standards.
  • Initiate areas of opportunities to improve the profitability of the department i.e. through controlling wastage and being responsible for the economy of all utilities and resources.
  • Ensure that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing functions are being completed each shift.
  • Help to organise / co-ordinate any department training sessions and / or meeting as required with the help of the Back of House & Staff Restaurant Manager.
  • Ensure staffing levels for all shifts are accurate and organise pre-shift briefings communicating vital information to the team such as house count, menu, events, positioning of staff during service etc.
