Main duties & responsibilities

As an Events Operations Manager you will be an exceptional team leader and have a passion for delivering an outstanding guest experience. You will be an excellent and confident communicator and have the ability to interact with guests and clients to ensure a fantastic experience at The Berkeley.

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Head of Events in managing and supervising the Banqueting Department and the areas in which banqueting takes place in such a way that company standards are achieved and maintained in respect of quality, quantity and service.
  • Supervise each Conference and Banqueting event in accordance to the customer’s wishes as specified on the event order.
  • Manage a highly motivated and energetic team of permanent and casual staff members, ensuring that regular training is provided and high performance levels are maintained at all times. 
  • Take responsibility of assigned events and handle guest complaints and requests up to standards and be comfortable dealing with high profile guests. 
  • Prepare monthly administration and forecasts for the team and ensure departmental updates are being shared regularly with the Head of Events and Hotel Manager. 

Entry Requirements

Successful candidates for our Events Operations Manager opportunity will need to be well presented, have excellent communication skills and strong leadership experience. We anticipate applicants will have previous experience as a manager and will have worked in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
