A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Engineer to join our Technical Services team at The Berkeley.

As a Shift Engineer you will be expected to provide technical support to the hotel while on shift, ensuring hotel standards are maintained at the highest level. You will carry out and coordinate day to day repairs and maintenance of the mechanical & electrical equipment and building engineering assets, including Fire, Life & Safety systems equipment.
Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
The up keep of all the Plant rooms Boiler house and Swimming pools by regularly planned inspections of these areas and taking necessary corrective or preventive actions as required.
You will be responsible for investigation and rectification of service supply’s be it Electrical Mechanical Gas or water. Being fully familiar with all main services and their isolation points. including Lock and Tag out for Electrical Main Gas isolation points including crash stops Hard and softened water supplies and there safe isolation, following all Hotel safety at work operating procedures.
As part of the Fire warden team you will be responding to fire alarms as per Hotel procedures given and you will also be fully conversant with the operation and isolation of the fire panel..
Monitoring and maintaining equipment within the building so they are kept in good operational working order Dealing with any issues immediately or reporting to the line manager when repairs cannot be performed.
Routine inspections and documentation of all plant while on duty to be carried out.
All boilers, LPHW circuits, pumps and motors to be checked daily and temperatures recorded as per provided training and checklists.
Weekly and monthly tests and inspections to be completed on time and recorded accordingly.
