Main duties & responsibilities

As a Pastry Commis Chef you will work closely with the Senior Chefs and assist in the day to day operation of the hotel’s pastry kitchen. You will be passionate about working with the finest and freshest ingredients and excited to learn from the Senior Chefs in the brigade.

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Pastry team in the preparation and service of our famed Pret-a-Portea afternoon tea, decadent desserts, pastry amenities and baked goods, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times.
  • Work in close liaison with all sections within the Kitchen to ensure an efficient service.
  • Maintain the appropriate amount of stock levels as directed by Chef de Partie/Sous Chef.
  • Be fully conversant with all Restaurants, Bars, Banqueting and Floor Service menus, in particular items which are the responsibility of your section and of their recipes and quantities.
