Goods Receiver
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Goods Receiver to join the Purchasing team at The Berkeley.

Rooms are furnished by leading designers, and London’s original fashionista afternoon tea ‘Prêt-à-Portea’ is served daily in the Collins Room. The Berkeley is perfectly positioned between Hyde Park, fashionable Knightsbridge and the residential neighbourhood of Belgravia. Its signature experiences include the famed Blue Bar, The Berkeley Bar & Terrace.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
As a Goods Receiver you will be receiving all goods delivered into the hotel, checking for quality and accuracy, and ensure that it has proper documentation before receiving it and that it is stored securely.
Main responsibilities of the Goods Receiver include, but are not limited to:
- Receive all goods according to the correct specification stated in the purchase order/request and to the standard of the hotel.
- Check prices and extensions on invoices where applicable, tally with those on purchase order and bring to the attention of the Assistant Purchasing Manager any price differences.
- Liaise with the Assistant Purchasing Manager as to the arrival of goods without Purchase Order. If the goods are accepted, record the delivery in the Receiving Book prior to passing on the document to Purchasing.
- Ensure where goods are received without adequate documentation, a “GRWD” is filled out and then treated like a delivery note.
- notify the relevant departments of the receipt of goods (if direct issue to the department). They must collect their goods from the receiving area and acknowledge the receipt on the delivery document.
- Record all the other relevant information in the Receiving Book.
- Contribute to maintaining an excellent level of service in conjunction with the minimum requirement of the LQA standards at all times.
