A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Barista to join the Cedric Grolet team at The Berkeley.

Main duties & responsibilities

As a Barista you will be responsible to maintain the organization and cleanliness of the Barista station while also preparing coffees and teas for service. Barista should be able to understand the needs of the station at any point of service such as replenishing stock, ice, and glassware as well as constantly reprioritising these tasks to ensure service runs smoothly and drinks arrive to guests in the appropriate amount of time. In addition, Barista is expected to know the food, cocktails, wines by the glass, and beer selections so that they can help answer any guest inquiries.      

 

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

 

  • Have an advanced level of knowledge of our coffee and tea programme and are able to speak fluently about our suppliers and any techniques directly associated with these offerings
  • To have an introductory level knowledge of all food served in the restaurant, cocktails, and wines by the glass.
  • Ensuring all responsibilities set out by your manager in the setting up and end of day procedure of the barista are met and completed in the time set out to you.
  • Ensuring the restocking, general organisation, syrup production, and cleaning the bar are completed in preparation to receive guests. Baristas must be able to accurately make all coffee drinks and tea as outlined in their training as well as explain and discuss all coffee and teas available.
  • When requested, Baristas must be able to confidently support in Assistant Waiter duties including delivering and clearing food dishes at tables in the correct sequence of service.
  • To be fully conversant with your departmental LQA standards.
