ESG at The Maybourne Beverly Hills

Combining European charm with California flair, The Maybourne Beverly Hills is the epitome of west coast spirit. Enviably located in the heart of the Golden Triangle and steps away from Rodeo drive, this landmark location promises all the energy Beverly Hills is renowned for. From the sun-drenched tables at The Terrace to the unbeatable views of the rolling hills of Hollywood, this is California through and through.

Alongside our dedication to luxury and exceptional guest experiences, The Maybourne Beverly Hills embraces its responsibility to operate ethically while championing our people, our community and the planet. Over the past year, we have made notable progress in our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance and we are proud to share some of the key highlights and commitments that reflect this ongoing work. Our most significant advances have been in the social sphere, demonstrating the depth of our dedication to our teams and the communities we serve.

Sam Jagger, Managing Director

"This year, we have made significant strides in proving that luxury hospitality and responsibility go hand in hand. From inspiring charitable partnerships and highly successful fundraisers, to empowering our colleagues and creating an increasingly sustainable supply chain, our journey is focused on building meaningful impact for our guests, our people and the wider community."

    Inclusion, Wellbeing and Engagement

    People

Our vibrant monthly calendar of colleague events is designed to foster inclusion, engagement and wellbeing. As part of this programme, we welcome local artisan businesses to share their crafts. These sorts of events celebrate diversity while strengthening our connection to the local community.

The Maybourne Beverly Hills offers a comprehensive suite of benefits to colleagues and hosts regular wellbeing sessions throughout the year such as massages, therapy and medical screenings to support the health and happiness of our team.

Listening to our colleagues is a top priority and we achieved an outstanding 100% participation rate in the 2025 engagement survey. Guided by feedback, we have introduced a range of new initiatives to enhance the workplace experience.

    Training and Development

We are committed to nurturing and retaining our colleagues, offering clear pathways for progression supported by meaningful development. Robust training opportunities underpin this commitment, with colleagues completing on average more than 23 hours each and collectively undertaking 12,883 hours of training during 2025.

For those stepping into managerial roles, our highly successful Leadership Series and Leadership Playbook are instrumental in strengthening the skills and confidence of these colleagues.

2025 also marked another successful graduate programme, resulting in two full-time positions offered.

Colleagues completed on average more than 23 hours of training each and collectively undertook 12,883 hours of training during 2025.

      Health and Safety

      People

The hotel delivers regular health and safety training through induction sessions, monthly refreshers and department-specific programmes, with mental health included as a safety topic. A Safety Committee reviews incident data monthly and all visitors and contractors receive a health and safety briefing.

A major success in the last year has been the introduction of our Active Safety Programme, which has played a vital role in encouraging colleagues to report and resolve hazards. We have seen a significant reduction in accidents as a result of new initiatives and remain committed to strengthening this focus in 2026.

      Planet

      Energy and Carbon

Along with the other Maybourne hotels, The Maybourne Beverly Hills is on a pathway to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2045. Our annual carbon calculations give us a clear understanding of our high emissions areas as well as opportunities for reduction.

Not only are we on a 100% renewable electricity contract, but over the last year we have invested significantly in technology, including a sophisticated upgrade to our Building Management System (BMS). These efficiency upgrades will give us the control to optimise and reduce our energy consumption across the hotel.

        Water Reduction

        Planet

Being in the heart of California, we are acutely aware of the importance of reducing water consumption. Low-water toilets are installed throughout the hotel and our three-day linen-change policy significantly reduces both water use and the energy required for laundry operations.

We also offer a low-water car-wash service for guests and residents. This chemical-safe, steam-cleaning method uses minimal water while still delivering an exceptional finish.

        Reducing Plastic

We have significantly reduced single-use plastics across the hotel by introducing a range of alternatives.

Spa and toiletry products in rooms and treatment areas are in refillable dispensers. Takeaway packaging for food and beverages are made from materials such as pulp, recycled paper, agave fibres and compostable bioplastic, while our spa slippers are reusable and made from 100% natural, regenerative rubber.

One of our standout highlights this year was to fully remove plastic water bottles in the gym and spa areas. Bottles have been replaced with high-quality filtered water, including a refreshing coconut water option, which guests can enjoy out of a bamboo cup.

          Charity Partnerships

          Partnerships

The Maybourne Beverly Hills is proud to serve as a pillar in our community, dedicating significant time and resources to supporting local charities and projects. Two particular highlights in 2025 were:

          • A large fundraiser held to support The Boys and Girls Clubs of Malibu and Pasadena as well as the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund.

Maybourne was instrumental in bringing the local hotels together to coordinate a total contribution of $175,000.

          • ‘Our Big Kitchen’ – an initiative which brought colleagues, local partners, community members and guests together to prepare meals for people in need.

We have supported many other causes and run various fundraisers over the last year, raising over $30,000 for organisations such as:

          • No Kid Hungry
          • Rotary Club
          • Baby2Baby
          • Project Angel Food
