Cirque du Soleil: Totem

This is one very sharp show. TOTEM is thrilling.

The New York Times

With breath-taking sets and stunts that leave audiences gasping, Cirque du Soleil has transformed the art of the circus – and this January they are set to thrill London once more. New show, Totem, traces the journey of mankind, weaving together primitive and modern myths with aboriginal stories of creation.

This is an exhilarating spectacle for all ages. Highlights include ‘Sparks of Life’ in which playful amphibians and fish burst into life, launching themselves high into the air from a power track. A mesmerising roller skating scene in which a couple whirl atop a tiny platform just 1.8 metres in diameter. Incredible feats of balance as five unicyclists toss metal bowls with their feet – and catch them on their heads.

As well as jaw-dropping physical feats, expect stunning staging and costumes - the Crystal Man costume is made up of over 4,000 reflective pieces, creating a human mirror ball.

This celebration of sheer human achievement and audience appreciation is simply thrilling. It’s why we love Cirque du Soleil, and always will.
