A one-of-a-kind theatrical event
The curtain raises on a never-before-seen season of Pinter plays in London this autumn. 30 actors will present all 20 of the Nobel Prize winner’s one-act works, in a unique Jamie Lloyd Company production that marks the ten-year anniversary of Pinter’s death. Expect well known pieces alongside newly uncovered works, performed by world-famous theatrical names – along with a number of surprise faces.

The cast for this adventurous season represents an eclectic mix of the playwright’s acquaintances and admirers from the stage and silver screen. Stars billed include: Sir Antony Sher, Hayley Squires, Paapa Essiedu, John Simm, David Suchet, Celia Imrie, Martin Freeman, Lee Evans and Danny Dyer. During 12 recitals of Landscape and A Kind of Alaska, Penelope Wilton will appear, revisiting her version of the sharp, witty monologue, Tess. While on just two dates Sir Mark Rylance is set to give readings of Art, Truth and Politics, Pinter’s Nobel Lecture. There are surprises in store too. Theatregoers will be treated to the world premiere of The Pres and an Officer, a recently unearthed Pinter sketch that will be performed by a different guest actor each night.
Truth in drama is forever elusive. You never quite find it but the search for it is compulsive.
