New Bridge Theatre

The London theatre has always been a balancing act between art and show business; we know that the most exciting shows can be both challenging and popular.

Sir Nicholas Hytner

A new theatre has opened in London right next to Tower Bridge, the first big commercial theatre to open in the capital for 80 years. With ex-National Theatre boss Sir Nicholas Hytner at the helm and a starry line-up for its inaugural season, it's likely to be the hot destination this year.

The 900-seat venue has a jam-packed calendar of shows for 2018 with Nightfall currently on stage. Written by the young Barney Norris, Nightfall follows a struggling family in the heart of the country.

Remember the name Barney Norris. He’s a new writer in his twenties, but already outstanding.

The Times

Summer will see a number of other titles gripping audiences at Bridge Theatre including My Name is Lucy Barton, a monologue performance by three-time Academy Award nominee Laura Linney and Alan Bennett’s new play Allelujah! which follows an NHS hospital at the brink of closure.
