An exceptional opportunity exists at our newest venture for a highly talented and ambitious Junior sous chef to join the newest venture at The Connaught opened this Summer by internationally renowned Michelin-starred French Chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Eclectic, imaginative menus are inspired both by Jean-Georges’ experiences of the Far East and his signature use of South-east Asian flavours, whilst also featuring his distinctive take on British and Connaught classics, influenced by his earlier working life and love of London. Sourcing the best of British ingredients, the menus also reflect the farm-to-table, fresh-from-the-market approach long pioneered by Jean-Georges.​

Jean-Georges at The Connaught is a meeting place for both our guests and our neighbourhood. It overlooks fashionable Mount Street, in the heart of Mayfair, and offers informal gourmet dining, all-hours, in a relaxed, contemporary setting. ​

Main duties & responsibilities

As Junior sous chef, you will work closely with the Sous chef and Executive sous chef and hold a key role in day to day operation of the Jean-Georges kitchen. You will be passionate about working with the finest, freshest ingredients and in delivering quality dishes and products.  You will take an organised approach to your role and prioritise effectively to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, sharing your knowledge and supporting in the training and development more junior Chefs in the brigade. 

Entry requirements

You will be an exceptional team player with excellent communication skills and have a key focus on detail to deliver outstanding quality and service within a high profile kitchen. With this in mind, you will have experience ideally at similar level within a quality dining environment and have proven kitchen experience.
