A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate Assistant Head Baker to join our Pastry Kitchen at The Berkeley.

Main duties & responsibilities

As Assistant Head Baker you will work closely with our Pastry Chefs and assist in the day to day operation of the pastry kitchen. You will be passionate about working with the finest and freshest ingredients and excited to take on a key role within our Kitchen operations. 

Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Assist with the daily production of breakfast bread products and pastry selections required in all F&B outlets within the hotel. 
• In conjunction with the Executive Pastry Chef and Head Baker, supervise and co-ordinate the Bakery service and ensure that orders are completed correctly and in a timely manner. 
• Conduct daily ingredient checks and inspect food items to ensure the highest quality is maintained at all times.
• Assist with the writing and checking of standard recipes for all dishes to ensure proper portion control, uniformity of taste and quality.
• Encourage efficient communication regarding food service, especially when highly individual and personalized service is demanded from our guests.

This is an exciting role for a talented individual who is looking for a new challenge and wants to join a fast paced and high performing hotel team renowned for their approach and delivery of unparalleled service. With this in mind, you will have previous solid experience at a similar level and have proven experience within a quality hotel and/or restaurant Pastry team.
