We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Rooms to join our Front Office team at The Berkeley. 

With an independent spirit and an eye for style, The Berkeley is the epitome of modern British luxury. Rooms are by leading designers, and London’s original fashionista afternoon tea is served daily in the Collins Room. The Berkeley is perfectly positioned between Hyde Park, fashionable Knightsbridge and the residential neighbourhood of Belgravia. Its signature experiences include the famed Blue Bar, Michelin-starred dining in Marcus and the Bamford Haybarn Spa, with a heavenly swimming pool.

Main duties & responsibilities

As Director of Rooms your main responsibility will be to oversee and manage the Reception, Concierge, Guest Relations and Spa team ensuring all teams deliver the highest levels of customer service. You will be responsible for the creation, management and fulfilment of your departmental budgets and forecasts in conjunction with individual Heads of Department. In addition you will focus on maximising the profitability of all outlets you oversee whilst being creative and initiate new concepts and ideas in order to stay competitive. You will be responsible for all aspects of the operation including our people, their development, the implementation of standards, guest service satisfaction and revenue.

You will be part of The Berkeley's Executive team and report directly to the Hotel Manager.

Entry requirements

We are looking for a self-motivated, forward thinking individual who brings proven Rooms Division Management experience within a luxury environment.
The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate high levels of guest focus and display that they have a solid financial and commercial awareness.
You will be a confident communicator with the ability to lead and develop your team and influence across all areas of the business
You will have a hands-on approach and take a proactive role with departmental managers in order to identify and support needs at all levels.
You will be an inspirational and creative leader, who is passionate in delivering extraordinary guest experiences and who takes pride in sharing success with your teams.
