V&A exhibition to celebrate British music
Date: 30 Apr - 24 Oct 10
Event: My Generation: The Glory Years of British Rock
Location: Victoria & Albert Museum
The Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) will launch a new exhibition this year celebrating one of the most influential eras in the history of British music.
My Generation: The Glory Years of British Rock will open on 30th April and run until 24th October. People with a passion for music will be able to visit the museum in the morning before returning to the Claridge's hotel in Mayfair, where they can enjoy a luxurious afternoon tea in London.
The exhibition will bring together a selection of 200 images by leading music photographer Harry Goodwin. Visitors will be able to see a picture of a shocked Bob Dylan, after being dazzled by a camera flash, and Jimi Hendrix playing the guitar with his teeth.
All of the images have been arranged to evoke the "mood and style of the 60s and 70s", according to the event's organisers. The display is one of many that will be launched at the V&A this year.
Book a room at the five star Claridge's hotel and savour a meal at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant after your visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum.
